Why does Chrome say Grabsafe can "read and change data on all websites"?

That is the name Chrome gives to permission to show the camera button on web pages and take a screenshot or recording of the page you are on. Grabsafe does not read, collect or send what is on the pages you visit. The only time it looks at page text is when Auto-blur is on, and that stays on your computer. You can switch the floating button off at any time.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Grabsafe has no server. Screenshots and videos are made inside your browser and saved on your computer.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no ads.
